Scooter Gennett

Scooter Gennett was a second baseman with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2013 to 2016. The most stable 2nd sacker since Rickie Weeks, Gennett never seemed to live up to the potential that he occasionally flashed with the Crew. He was claimed off waivers by the Reds in March of 2017 and with the Reds had his two finest seasons, including making the All star team and nearly winning the NL Batting title. He always kinda reminded me of Craig Biggio. A scrappy player who gives 110 percent and leaves his soul on the field.

I've seen Gennett play in 12 games so far, all with the Brewers. In those 12 games Scoots went 11 for 39 a triple and a Home Run 11 runs scored 7 rbi 0 walks, 5 k's. On the fielding side Scooter made 15 putouts and 19 assists. The game that stands out the most was a June 2015 between the Minnesota Twins and the Brewers. The year before a bunch of us that worked at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino in Milwaukee got together for a impromptu tailgate game. We did it again in 2015 and the Twins, were my team, and the rest of the group of nearly 20 were all Brewers fans. We got picked out by a group that travels the parking lots to the various tailgate parties and gives out loot. My kids and the kids of another bartender got along great, and after the eats, we played 500 in the lot before heading into the game. As we got to our seats along the 3rd base line Brian Dozier blasted a home run into the seats. I'm thinking this was going to be a fun game. Not so much once Trevor May took the mound in his major league debut. May got rocked and the Brewers scored 6 in the first and 4 more in the bottom of the inning and the rout was on. Scooter took Alex Meyer deep later in the game.

It's one of the things I miss the most in the past year. The pandemic robbing us of our tailgates, games and concerts. Hoping for better things this year.  This signature was obtained in a trade from fellow benchie gestes72. Thank you sir, for a great card.
